Campus Recreation is working to make our space, everyone's space. We strive to provide opportunities for every Bobcat to play, grow, and transform into the Bobcats of tomorrow. 

  • Campus Recreation's commitment to all Bobcats

      • All lifeguards maintain current American Red Cross CPR/AED, First Aid, and Lifeguard certification to ensure patron safety
      • We offer an array of free equipment checkout to help aid your workout.
      • Free swim lessons are available to those who qualify for financial assistance based on FAFSA
      • Two sessions of adult group swim lessons are available each semester with a variety of levels/abilities
      • An assortment of days, times, and lesson packages are available for our one-on-one swim lessons
      • A multitude of American Red Cross certification courses are available throughout the semester ranging from CPR/AED/First Aid to Lifeguarding and Instructor courses
      • We have adopted blended learning American Red Cross course to relieve the amount of in-person class time
      • Swimming and Safety demo videos are available on our YouTube channel
      • Entry into the Student Recreation Center is ADA accessible
      • Accessible parking right in front of building
      • Two elevators for access to all levels of SRC facility
      • Accessible showers in all locker rooms
      • Gender neutral attire policy
      • Accessibility ramp into Weight Room
      • Strength equipment arranged to support ADA regulations
      • Work with one of our nationally certified Personal Trainers to help guide you through your personal fitness goals
      • Anyone can join our group exercise community and participate in various exercise formats
      • One on one nutrition coaching with dietetic interns and registered dietitians that provide individualized evidence-based recommendations based on your needs
      • We provide a non-judgmental, safe space dedicated to our Texas State University Community
      • Dedicated to helping you reach optimal physical & mental health with a variety of fitness and nutrition options
      • Intramural Sports offers free events at no additional cost.

      • We offer two leagues; competitive & recreational.  This allows participants to play at the level they're most comfortable with.

      • No prior experience is required to participate.

      • We offer free agent registration – where we will assist with your placement on a team.

      • We offer a wide range of events; leagues, tournaments, socials, & virtual activities.

      • Trips Program:

        • Provide outdoor trips that range in difficulty to meet the needs of our Texas State University Community

        • Outdoor trips provide food and menus that meet the dietary needs and restrictions of every trip participant

      • Climbing Center:

        • The Climbing Center sets climbing routes with varying difficulty levels from beginner to advanced routes

        • Our Gym to Crag series including our Rock Climbing 101 workshop is designed to help everyone learn to climb regardless of skill or ability level

      • Outdoor Center

        • Provide varying rentals to allow patrons to choose their own mode of adventure, and explore on their own or with friends

        • Staff can help you by recommending the most appropriate equipment for your adventure needs

      • Team Building:

        • All programs are created for each group's needs and goals

        • We design each program to build you with skills and success throughout the program to help you accomplish your own peak experience

        • Every program utilizes a "Challenge by Choice" philosophy, where each individual has the ability to choose how they participate in our programs

      • Custom Programs:

        • Provide intentional designed custom programming for groups to meet their goals, and unique needs including:

          • Custom team building

          • Custom trips

          • Custom climbing clinics
