Every new adventure begins at a Trailhead; Why shouldn't your college experience be the same?
Trailhead is Texas State University's student-led, adventure-based experience that prepares students for life at Texas State. While exploring this diverse terrain, students will learn about Bobcat traditions, college life, and campus resources in a unique setting! In the evenings, participants will participate in student-led group discussions with current TXST students in order to prepare them for college and life in San Marcos.
No prior experience is required, but a can-do attitude is a valuable asset.
Registration will open in Spring 2024.

Day 1 Travel Day
Welcome to the trailhead, the beginning of your journey as a new Bobcat! As the sun rises on your new adventure, you and your new friends will travel to camp!
Day 2-5 Backpacking
Enjoy backpacking in the Gila Wilderness. You and your friends will you learn wilderness skills, and what it means to be a Bobcat from current students.
Day 6-7 Returning to Campus
As the sun sets on your first adventure as a Bobcat, you will share contact info with your new friends and get ready to tackle your first year as a Bobcat!
