Leave No Trace is a national educational program to inform visitors about reducing the damage caused by outdoor activities, particularly non-motorized recreation. Leave No Trace practices are based on an abiding respect for the natural world and our fellow wildland visitors. This clinic provides an introductory overview of the seven Leave No Trace principles and how we can apply them to our everyday lives!

New Year, New Adventure Spring Break Trip!
Travelling to the Enchanted Rock State Natural Area found right in our backyard, we will explore the unique Pink Granite Batholith located in the Llano uplift area of central Texas.
After an early departure to beat the crowds, we will summit the dome, hike a variety of trails and explore the caves around Enchanted Rock. This trip will be topped off with a stop in Fredericksburg for dinner and exploring the local culture.

These clinics teach participants about equipment, knots, climbing skills, belay technique, catching falls, and lowering climbers; all with plenty of practice. Participants who have completed a workshop must then complete a free Belay Skills Assessment to belay independently at the climbing wall.

Join Campus Recreation on Monday, April 8th at University Camp to watch the 2024 Total Solar Eclipse!
This is a FREE opportunity to visit UCamp, hangout by the river, and experience this phenomenon. There will be no reservations this day, you can come and go as you please.
Use of the campsites and fire pits (pending burn bans) will be on a first come, first serve basis.
Everyone is invited and you do not have to be affiliated with Texas State University. Free eclipse glasses will be handed out while supplies last. The eclipse will occur around 1:30PM.
